New Fiction: “Draconis astronomus”

Today is the day! My science fiction story “Draconis astronomus” is out in the world within the pages of the Dragon Gems Winter 2024 anthology. Alongside my story, the anthology contains dozens of other fantastic SF/F short reads, plenty of stories to get you through the winter season.

You can order the entire anthology as a digital, paper-, or hardback edition. You can also add and rate all editions over on Goodreads, and I encourage you to do so there and also to rate at whatever retailer you choose to download from. Those ratings can help us authors and publishers immensely.

I’d be ecstatic if you ordered the anthology, and I hope you enjoy reading “Draconis astronomus” as much as I enjoyed writing it (and I had a lot of fun writing it!).

Containing “Draconis astronomus” by Catherine Tavares

Space is alive, and it’s filled with dragons.

When Dr. Geraldine Whitaker first saw a dragon in the depths of space, she knew she had discovered something extraordinary. If only the rest of the world saw it that way. Denied access because of her gender and funding because of her beliefs, Geraldine nevertheless sets out on a lifelong journey to prove the existence of Draconis astronomus and recapture the wonder she witnessed as a child.
