New Fiction: “They Will Dance Among Planets”

I am so excited to share a brand new flash fiction story with you today. My science fiction flash “They Will Dance Among Planets” is out in the world and free to read with Flash Point SF!

This is my second time being published with Flash Point SF. They are an amazing magazine publishing some of the best flash fiction stories. It is an honor to have my work featured with them again.

“They Will Dance Among Planets” is about the complicated desires, fears, and feelings of parenthood, childlessness, and childfree living set in a futuristic sci-fi setting where the choice to have children or not was made by others first and individuals second. It’s a story very near and dear to my heart, and I hope you enjoy it.

Please feel free to share the link to the story with friends and family and on socials. Happy reading!

“They Will Dance Among Planets”
by Catherine Tavares

Decades ago, Lindi, like everyone of her generation, was sterilized to prevent over-population from destroying humanity’s chance at new life in space. Only a teenager, Lindi hardly noticed one of the most important decisions of her life being taken from her, but now she cannot stop thinking of children, of what she wants, and what it means to have a legacy that reaches the stars.
